Welcome to the 2016-2017 Coyote season
Welcome to the 52nd season of Kent Youth Hockey!
The 2016-2017 is going to be a great season.
Bantam and Peewee will take the ice for their first practice on September 12th. To start the season we will practice on Mondays, Saturday and Sundays at South Kent Prep. Mites will also start practice on only Mondays Sept 12th until November. Learn to Skate will start on Saturday Nov 5th pending the ice conditions at Kent School (check the website).
As we move into October please visit the website for practice and game schedules, which currently is posted on the website.
Last year the jerseys were purchased by the organization and are generally done bi-yearly. New members will receive jerseys and existing members will need to make sure their current jerseys fit from last year! We will be placing a replacement jersey order in late September and the cost will be approximately $50.
The goal for ice this year is to utilize all the local rinks. This helps KYH to be situational when challenges arise and it helps with the high percentage of home games. We will start the season at South Kent Prep as they are the only local rink with ice in September. As we transition into November, Wednesday practices and Saturday games will move to Rumsey and Sunday events to Kent School.
Please remember all final paper work, USA hockey numbers, and second payments are due on the 12th.
Also the kids need to check all their equipment before stepping on the ice the 12th, two gloves, everything fits, skates are sharpened, etc…..
Lastly to keep the KYH tradition going we need volunteers: Team managers, schedulers, snack bar for games, and new board members…..
Please enjoy the remnants of summer and prepare for the best season yet!

Check out a great article about our own small town hockey program just published on the USAHockey site! KYH's President, Dean DiNicola talks about how we've been able to use the American Development Model (ADM) to help grow our program here in the Northwest corner of Connecticut and improve skating and hockey opportunities for all our skaters!
